Part 1. Overview

FineVoice Speech to Text (STT) uses advanced Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) technology to convert audio into accurate text. By extracting acoustic features and applying deep learning language models, it delivers high recognition accuracy and low-latency transcription across diverse scenarios. FineVoice STT streamlines the process of converting large volumes of speech into editable text, eliminating manual errors and delays. It’s ideal for meeting minutes, classroom notes, interview transcription, subtitle generation, and content archiving.

Before getting started, please prepare the following:

Part 2. Quick Start

Step 1. Go to FineVoice AI Tools

Select Speech to Text in the left menu bar.

Step 2. Upload Audio Files

Click to upload your audio files. You can import and process up to 5 files at once.
Alternatively, you can record your voice directly as input.

Step 3. Select Language

Choose the language matching your audio file. The default is auto-detect.

Step 4. Choose Output Format

Select your preferred output format: Text, JSON, SRT, or VTT.

Step 5. Generate and Download Text

Click the "Generate" button at the bottom. Once processing is complete, your transcribed text will appear in the history list, where you can:

Download and save

Part 3. Notes and Limitations

You can quickly transcribe audio content into your chosen text format by uploading audio files or recordings.

Audio File Requirements:
Supported formats: MP3, AAC, ARM, M4A, WAV, etc.
Maximum duration: ≤ 20 minutes
Maximum file size: ≤ 300MB

Output Formats:
Text: Basic file with plain content, ideal for simple recording and reading.
JSON: Structured file with timestamps, speaker labels, and metadata—perfect for integration and further development.
SRT: Standard subtitle format, aligns text segments with timelines—great for video subtitle production.
VTT: WebVTT (Web Video Text Tracks) subtitle format, similar to SRT but supports advanced styling and interactive features for web or multimedia players.

Part 4. Best Practices

To achieve the best transcription results with FineVoice, consider these optimization methods:

1. Improve Audio Quality

Clear Recording:
Ensure the speaker's voice is at a moderate volume and clearly articulated.
Reduce Background Noise:
Turn off sources like air conditioners or fans, and avoid overlapping speech or multiple people talking simultaneously.
Microphone Placement:
Position the microphone close to the speaker, but avoid distortion or clipping.
Sampling Rate:
Use an audio sampling rate of at least 16 kHz; 44.1 kHz or 48 kHz is ideal.
Audio Format:
Prefer WAV or other lossless formats. MP3 is acceptable, but excessive compression can lower recognition accuracy.
Clean Voice Track:
Make sure there is no background music, sound effects, or other noises in the audio.

Note

If your audio contains noise, use the AI Voice Enhancer feature to improve clarity. For recordings with background music or sound effects, use Singify Stem Splitter to separate and extract a clean vocal track before transcription.

2. Optimize Speech Input Methods

Mono Recording:
Use mono instead of stereo to prevent interference between left and right audio channels.
Segmented Recording:
For lengthy audio, split recordings into smaller segments (5–10 minutes) to minimize cumulative recognition errors.
Clear Pauses:
Leave short pauses between sentences or paragraphs to help the model accurately identify sentence boundaries.

3. Common Issues and Optimization Tips

Frequent Recognition Errors:
Enhance audio quality, choose the appropriate transcription model, or upload segmented audio files.
Slow Recognition for Long Audio:
Divide the audio into shorter segments for faster processing.
Dialect or Accent Recognition Issues:
Manually review and correct the transcript as needed to ensure accuracy.
